My Patch is in the countryside, and I don't get many rarities, but I have developed a connection to some of the birds there. There are a family of Grey Herons that allow me to get really close to them and appreciate what beautiful birds they are. I also get lots of Buzzards, Goldfinches, Tits, Thrushes, Grey & Pied Wagtails, Kingfishers and Tawny Owls. I love to write poetry and nature writing whilst I'm in my patch.<br />Happy (patch) birding lol!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03311656279109746097noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7874353348277418815.post-30919955640402152742016-01-11T20:07:47.523+00:002016-01-11T20:07:47.523+00:00Cheers! Long may it continue to exist and provide us with enjoyment, I hope!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7874353348277418815.post-65385538761432770082016-01-11T18:37:34.706+00:002016-01-11T18:37:34.706+00:00Hi Amy. I went to what was Gosport Grammar School, and one year we had a geography field trip that involved walking up the valley from Hill Head to Titchfield. I so enjoyed it that any opportunity I had, I would walk the long way home (Bridgemary) from school just to go through the valley. At that time it wasn't a reserve, that didn't happen until long after I had left home and Gosport. I sometimes wonder how much sooner I would have got into bird watching if it had been a reserve, and if there had been information and other naturalists around to learn from. It took another seven years for me to start birdwatching, but Titchfield Haven still has a place in my heart. I hope you continue to enjoy it, and may one day I'll get back there to see it as a reserve. Thank you for writing about it.nature watcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10665834236019604892noreply@blogger.com
